Deadline
The deadline ("TERMINAL DATE") for registering and entering submissions
for the contest is March 19th, 2010 at 6:00pm (Eastern Standard time).
How to play
Contestants must pick foods in each of the 63 food-vs-food match-ups in the FOOD FIGHT: Where The Locals Eat Bracket
Challenge, including the final four teams and eventual champion. Individuals under the age of 21 (on March 19th, 2010) may play this contest, but are not eligible to win the grand prize of an Apple iPad.
The Bracket
Once the bracket has been submitted, the contestant is officially
participating. Submitted brackets are final on March 19 (extended to MARCH 21), 2010 at 6pm EST.
The games will be graded and the bracket will be updated at the end of each round.
Point System
The Point System is as follows :
• 1st Round = 2 pts
• 2nd Round = 4 pts
• 3rd Round = 8 pts
• 4th Round = 16 pts
• 5th Round = 32 pts
• 6th Round = 64 pts
Total possible scoring points per round = 64 pts.
Total possible scoring points per bracket = 384 pts.
Points are awarded and scored by the number of votes/pics each food-vs-food matchup receives. Example: In round 1, Hamburger (1) vs. Rocky Mountain Oyster (64). Once the contest has closed, if more submissions have chosen Hamburger over Rocky Mountain Oysters, then Hamburger wins the matchup and everyone who selected Hamburger in their bracket will be awarded 2pts. In the even any matchup ends in a tie, with each food receiving 50%, then the higher seeded food will be awarded the win for that match-up.
Prize Structure
The grand prize winner of a Free Apple iPad will be determined by the correct picks in the bracket and
the cumulative total of points scored by each contestant. In the event
of a tie, the winner will be the individual who has predicted their final point total (entered in the text box at the bottom of the entry bracket). In the event two (or more) individuals are tied after the first tie breaker, the winner will be the individual who submitted their bracket the earliest (each submission is marked with a time stamp). Winners
will be notified by E-mail, by April 7th, 2010. The prize winner must respond within ten (10) days and provide a mailing address (no P.O. Boxes). Failure to reply within this time period may result
in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Any
prize notification returned as undeliverable may result in
disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. It is the
responsibility of the entrant to keep E-mail
information up-to-date and accurate. Winners should allow up to 4-6 weeks after they respond to their notification to receive
their prize. By accepting a prize, the winner grants Magellan Press and WhereTheLocalsEat.com to use their names and other info for
publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation.

right to publicize standings, groups and winners. Real names will not
be used to display contest information only usernames and groups.

use in the contest. The sources include, but are not limited to, our
